Windows XP has the built-in ability to write files to CD-R and CD-RW media. You can save your files to CD at any computer that is equipped with a CD-RW drive (not a CD-ROM).

OCR (Optical Character Recognition) scanning is designed to recognize letters and some formatting in scanned documents; and save it in an editable text format to programs such as Microsoft Word. The resulting files can then be used in the same way you would use a new document you had just created from scratch.
Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed the Internet Explorer Pop-up Blocker. It is turned on campus-wide, and originally set to the medium setting. This setting blocks most automatic pop-ups, but allows you to see pop-ups that open when you click a link or button on a Web site. The Pop-up Blocker will play a sound and show the Information Bar when a pop-up is blocked. If you wish to view a blocked pop-up, click in the Information Bar for options.
To block all pop-ups set security to High.
