Schoolcraft Technology FAQs

Some of our students have had problems getting Schoolcraft e-mails. Their e-mail system's spam filter is stopping e-mails from schoolcraft.edu because it thinks the messages are spam.

Wireless access is available in Applied Sciences, Bradner Library, Forum, Liberal Arts, VisTaTech Center and the Waterman Wing, and the BioTech Center. This service is available for notebook and laptop computers, and PDAs.

All student computers on both campuses have security software installed.  You need to be aware of two effects of this software:

1. Any software that you install will be deleted after shutting down or restarting the computer.
• Note that students are not supposed to install software under Computer Use Policy 3110.
2. All changes to program settings will disappear after shutting down the computer.
3. Files that you save to the computer will be deleted and unretrievable after shutting down or restarting the computer.
• Save files to removable media to retain your documents.
• Use floppy or zip disk, CD, or flash drive (thumb drive)
